Rose Wood Westies

I obtained my first Westie in 2002. My Darbe’ was my heart and soul. But no one was DNA testing Westies back then and Darbe’ had serious health issues. She lived a long happy life after being spayed and having several surgeries. She crossed Rainbow Bridge Thanksgiving of 2015. I knew I wanted another Westie, but finding a healthy, quality dog was an enormous challenge. The challenge of finding quality, breed standard, healthy pups was the reason my family decided to begin breeding these wonderful terriers. 

Rose Wood Westies was founded in Collinsville, Mississippi in 2017 when we welcomed two spunky and sweet West Highland White Terriers into our lives, Bella Rose and Bentley Royce. Bella is a AKC female I acquired from my mentor in South Louisiana. Bentley is a AKC male from a wonderful breeder in North Mississippi. We waited two long years, on several waitlists, before being able to obtain these 2 not related, quality, well confirmed, and health tested pups. We acquired Asta Rose in 2020 and Piper Rose in 2022. In 2022 we also relocated to El Campo Texas.

We are a small kennel only having one or two breeding females at a time. Our retired females remain within our immediate family and continue to be spoiled and loved. We have Westies all over the United States and Westies who compete in AKC events, Earth dog and nose work. Our goal is to continue to promote the versatility and tenacity of the breed standard West Highland White Terrier though involvement in AKC events and by breeding quality pups from our health tested lines.
